The Blackdown Hills Steel Bands were formed some fifteen years ago when a group of local people got together to play their first tentative notes on the beautifully resonant steel drums.

Since then we have gone from strength to strength and we now have two adult bands and another comprising talented younger players. We also have a Samba Band (see contacts page).

Our steel bands may be hired to play at your event. We play at private parties, fetes and other charitable events - anywhere in fact where the mellow sounds and gentle rhythmic flow of our music would contribute to the ambience you wish to create. We are happy to take on bookings within a fifty mile radius of our Somerset base; this includes most of Somerset, Devon and West Dorset.
